Global Solutions

Modular Emulsion Plant
ZMW has designed and commissioned more than half of the world's emulsion explosive plants. ZMW has the technical know-how to develop formula's that optimize manufacturing economics and maximize performance. There are no technology licensing or royalty fee's - we work directly on your staff and have the global experience to optimize an existing emulsion production process, solve packaging problems, develop new products or to bring a new emulsion plant on-line quickly, efficiently, safely and economically.

Limestone Quarry Using Recycled Propellant and Emulsion Blend

The blaster must regulate the type and amount of explosives ENERGY, the three dimensional placement of that energy within a geological MASS and the detonator delay TIME sequencing within the blast.

Charles Wade, the inventor of the detonator sensitive and many other emulsion and water gel explosives, together with Tom Zukovich and Bob Morhard, have formulated new propellant emulsion blends. ZMW has provided innovative technical solutions to explosives re-cycling and is experienced in UN Hazards Classification, hazards analysis, the design and construction of explosives production equipment and development of process controls for the safe and efficient emulsion propellant blending operations.

ZMW provided technical services to ATK Alliant TechSystems - Thiokol Technologies International, Inc. and the US Department of Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to demilitarize the former Soviet SS-24 ICBM's in Pavlograd, Ukraine. The SS-24 propellant is being washed out from the rocket motor cases and combined with an emulsion matrix, packaged and recycled as industrial explosives in Ukraine. ZMW formulated a novel emulsion matrix compatible with the washed out SS-24 propellant, designed production equipment, and was a team member of the explosives safety and UN Hazards Classification program. ZMW presented technical information in support of a joint Ukrane-USA public information community meeting.
